I'm Tom Wilson. I recently took over the welding program after spending the past 14 years in administration. I started the current program at Green River High School when it opened in 1999. Prior to that, I taught metals, drafting, woods, PE and technology at the middle school level for 17 years. My teaching career actually began at Rock Springs High School where I taught welding and machine shop.
I graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1980 with a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Arts / Technology Education and then again in 2002 with a Masters in Educational Administration. I am a concrete mason by trade, prior to college, and have done a significant amount of work in that area over the years. I spent six summers underground at FMC in the mine maintenance program and have designed and built three residential houses along with several industrial buildings. My formal education along with these experiences have provided me a great deal of insight, not only into the industrial world, but also what this community is looking for in terms of the future of our work force. I am extremely excited to share this with the students involved in the welding program.
