My name is Joy Johnson-Kennah (Mrs. K). I started teaching in 1986 and have taught in Lander, Worland, Rawlins and Green River. Green River High School is by far the best place I have ever taught. I have taught at in SWCSD#2 for almost 23 years and at the high school for almost 21 years.
I was born in Missoula, Montana but I say my hometown is TenSleep, Wyoming. I was raised on a ranch all my life and still have horses and help with my Dad and Mom's cattle whenever I can. I graduated from the University of Wyoming with a BA in Elementary Education and Special Education. I am married to Henry, who also teaches at GRHS, and we have two great kids, Zach and Olivia. Zach graduated from the University of Wyoming in 2014 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. He lives in Burbank, CA and is following his dream of being an artist (2D), acting, and writing. Olivia lives in Laramie, Wyoming and is a junior majoring in Journalism at UW. She also loves music and is a great vocalist. My parents live around Miles City, MT and have a ranch and farm there. My brother, Greg, lives in College Station, TX and is a professor and researcher at Texas A&M in the area of Reproductive Physiology.
I have worked with the best paraprofessional in the whole world, Fran Gregory for many years. I am very lucky to have the honor of working with her in 5 classes again this year!
I love movies and my favorite actors are Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio. My favorite band is KISS! It has been since I was in 6th grade!
