Welcome to Study Skills and VESEP Webpages
My name is Katie Camis and I am a 2004 graduate of Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. I received my B.S. in Criminal Justice with a emphasis in Criminalistics and a Chemical Lab Technician degree. I then attended Regis University in Denver, Colorado where I received my Masters in Special Education in May 2012. I graduated from Green River High School in 1999. I stared in the district in 2004 as a paraprofessional with the Bridges Program. In 2005, I became a member of the Green River Volleyball Coaching staff. I started out as the sophomore coach and 2008 I moved up to JV. I also coached basketball for 3 years. I love the game of volleyball and coach until 2012 when I resigned due to a new baby and new job in the district as a SPED Teacher at Green River High School as ALS (Alternative Learning Skill) and VESEP coordinator.
I started dating my husband Chris in high school and we were married in July of 2005. We are blessed with two beautiful daughters Hayden, Alayna, and our puppy Eddie. We really enjoy our summers as a family. We enjoy traveling and being outdoors. In the summer we camp all over Wyoming, visit family in St. Louis, Moab, Zion, we took the girls to Disneyland, and I also love working in my yard. I am a St. Louis Cardinal Fan!!!! GO Red Birds!!!
I am currently the ALS teacher and VESEP coordinator. I have three wonderful paraprofessionals that work with me everyday. I have four section of study skills, 7 sections of VESEP, and 3 sections of ALS. VESEP is our work program where they students go out in the community and obtain job skills to better prepare them as they transition out of high school.
I enjoy teaching and spending time with the youth of Green River. I am really looking forward to seeing the growth that my students will accomplish this academic year. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me.
