My name is Spencer Cantrell and I am a 2006 graduate of Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I received a B.A. in Spanish with a Business Management minor. I then attended the University of Utah where I received a Master's of Arts in Teaching in May of 2008. I graduated from Worland High School in 1998. After working for a year, I moved to Argentina where I lived for two years. I lived in the cities of Mar del Plata, Quequén, Olavarría and Santa Rosa.
After leaving Argentina, I enrolled in Brigham Young University-Idaho in Rexburg, Idaho, which is where I met my wife, Kimberly. We were married in 2002 and now have four children: Braden, William, Kelsey, and Aubrianna.
After finishing up my Master's degree, I spent some time working full-time for the federal government before accepting a job here in 2010. I continue that work every summer. I am in my sixth year of teaching at Green River High School. I also enjoy coaching. During my time here, I have coached football, basketball, track, and golf.
I really enjoy traveling. In the summer of 2014, Mr. Dickson and I along with our wives took a large group of 45 people on a trip to Spain. We were able to see amazing sites and experience culture and history in cities like Granada, Seville, Cordoba, Madrid, and Barcelona. We also have a trip planned during the summer of 2016 when we will be taking another large group of students to Costa Rica and Nicaragua for 11 days.
I truly enjoy spending time with the students here at GRHS. Teaching Spanish and coaching are two of my passions and I feel blessed to be able to do it. I look forward to a great 2015-16 school year.
