My name is Tammy Korkow and I am a 1995 graduate from Purdue University. I received a B.A. in Special Education with an emphasis working with children that have emotional and behavioral disorders. I grew up in Lakewood, Colorado, but moved to Elk Mountain Wyoming in 1996 to begin my teaching career.
This is where I met my husband Burt. We were married in March of 2000. The Korkow's homesteaded in 1891, and continue to operate a ranch North of Hanna. We lived and raised our three eldest children, Matt, Justin, and Jennifer, near the family ranch. I taught at Elk Mountain and Hanna Elementary for 18 years while enjoying watching my children grow. We were blessed with another daughter, Madison in 2008. My husband works at Solvay and after living apart for much of the year we decided it was time for Madison and I to relocate in 2014, I accepted a job here in Green River as a Special Education Teacher. I currently teach Three sections of Social Skills and am itinerant teacher in two sections of Algebra I with Mrs. Penny Kern, and one section of Studies in Film with Mrs. Victoria Hemphill.
We have enjoyed the change and the variety of activities available, and truly love Green River. We also enjoying spending time in the mountains camping or swimming and fishing. We continue to travel back to Hanna and Laramie to visit family and enjoy all the wonderful things Wyoming has to offer.
I enjoy teaching and spending time with the youth of Green River. I am really looking forward to seeing the growth that my students will accomplish this academic year. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me.
