Welcome to Lisa Robison's Webpages
I teach Foundations of Physical Education for 6 hours a day. It is exciting to welcome freshman into high school and watch them move through high school as they approach graduation. I am lucky to be able to teach 3/4 of the freshman class each year.
A Little About Me
I grew up in Kearney, Nebraska attending school there, graduating from Kearney High School, earning my Bachelor Degree in K-12 Physical Education, Masters Degree in Secondary Guidance and Counseling (becoming a Nebraska Licensed Professional Counselor) and an Educational Specialist Degree in K-12 Principalship at the University of Nebraska-Kearney.
This is my 38th year in the educational field. I have been in Green River (Sweetwater County School District #2) for 26 years and spent 12 years in Nebraska. In Nebraska, I served as K-12 School Counselor and a Career/Admissions Counselor at the Community College level. While in Nebraska I was recognized as the Outstanding Vocational Counselor in the state by the Nebraska Professional Counselors Association, I also served as the President of the Nebraska Professional Counselor Association having a membership of 700. In June of 1992 I accepted a counseling position at Green River High School as a 9-12 counselor, developing and implementing a model Career/Counselling program via funding through a 5-year federal School-to-Career Grant Program following the American School Counselor Association Model, also becoming an AdvancEd Chair for school accreditation reviews in Wyoming. After 13 years I was approached to become an Assistant Principal at the middle school level, I began the process of developing Professional Learning Communities and addressing bullying via the introduction of the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program. Two years later, I became an Intervention Specialist, becoming a trainer for the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program and a trainer for multiple intervention curricula during the initial implementation of RtI programs in the school district. At the end of two years, I moved back to high school counseling at Expedition Academy working with students grades 10-12. After 2 years, I was moved to teaching Physical Education, now having taught at Green River High School for 7 years. I am certified by the National Archery in Schools Program as well as certified Spin Bike Instructor and have had a variety of specialty training via a federal PEP grant that just ended the spring of 2015. I have implemented the teaching of line dancing, Drum exercise, Archery and Spin Bikes in the past few years as part of the Foundations in Physical Education (freshman P.E. course).
As you can see by just a few of the things I have mentioned about my history, I am always looking for programs and methods that improve our students' education and experiences.
