Ron Thon 2020 in Riverton had a great outcome for Green River High School wrestling, coming out on top and taking home that first place trophy! Green River had four in the finals and three of the four won and took home the belt, Payton Tucker (12), Thomas Dalton (9), and Clayson Mele (11). Thomas (9) a freshman had a very good out coming at Ron Thon, taking that first place belt home, Thomas is looking forward to State because he has a very good chance. Payton, a three-time Ron Thon winner has a very good chance at state to get his third-time state title. Payton also received outstanding wrestling for the upper weights, which is a very big accomplishment. Payton says “Green River, as a team, is looking very good this year and has a very good chance at winning the whole thing”. Many of his teammates agree with that statement! “The team just needs to keep working hard and same with myself!” Say’s Kade Flores (11), a fourth-place finisher. He says he “has a few things to work on, but has a very good chance at state.” Green River really wants to take home that first place trophy at state in 4a because next year Green River will be going down to 3A. Green River doesn’t want to leave anything on the line this year. They want to come out on top and they have a very good chance.
